Unlike Egpytian Artist, Greek Artist followed no "law" when it came to their art. They used a style that was more suitable for them. Greeks worked with what they saw and this is why I favor Greek Art work more.
Greek artist were more liberal in their art, where as Egyptian Artist focused more on thier higher power (Gods, Goddesses and Pharaoh's). Egyptians were more "characterized by the idea of order". Their best idea was "objective representation". But their sculptures and statues lacked certain realistic characteristics unlike the Greeks.
Greeks expressed their expertise and freedom through their work. They choosed to work with "reality rather than objective truths". Both Egyptians and Greeks Art encouraged nudity but Egyptians only used nudity in children and severants. Greeks used nudity more because of their genuine interest in the human form. Greeks artist used emotions of humans like muscles and body organs in their statues unlike Egyptian artist. Movement was used by the Greeks and they captured action in their paintings ant interactions between subjects. Eqyptians did not use movement nor was their any type of action capture in their paintings. Egyptian art was more static. Greeks would do paintigs and markings on their pottery something Egyptians rarely did.
Greek art work has influenced the art work of today. It influenced how artist today protray the human figure. Greeks detail into the "Male Body" have allowed for artist of today to add more details in their nude statues like bone outlines, natural stance , athletic poses and more. Artist today also use most of Greek ideas to express in their sculptures and 2 demensional art that realistic tone. Greeks free style on art as influence the free style many artist use today. Both Greek art and Art of today express reality and human expressions in their work.
Eqyptian art was more inclined on religion, and Greeks art was more inclined on philosophy. Both eras displayed great art work. Egyptians art holds a more symbolic or ceremonial purpose. Greeks art was more of a mix of styles and they experimented with diiferent concepts of the world.
